Forget Something?

We recommend picking up most things you’ll need in Salt Lake City, but if you’re in a pinch (we’ve all been there!)…

There is a small shop behind the front desk at the Snowpine and a larger shop (including the worlds smallest liquor store), General Gritts, at Snowbird.

All events for our weekend will take place at the Snowpine Lodge so we encourage our guests to stay with us on site.

There are nearby AirBnB or hotels at Alta and Snowbird if you would like to consider alternatives. Salt Lake City is a 30 minute drive down a windy canyon road so we encourage you to stay at Alta or Snowbird on Saturday night.

Getting to Alta, Utah

Alta, Utah is located at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon, about 40 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport.

We recommend pre-booking a rental car or round-trip ground transportation via vendors that regularly operate in Little Cottonwood Canyon such as Alta Shuttle and Canyon Transportation.

Uber, Lyft or other ride hailing services are not available in Little Cottonwood Canyon. If you are not staying at the Snowpine or plan on making day trips to explore, be sure to research transportation options ahead of your trip!

Last, but not least - plan ahead! Restaurants and bars close at 9 pm so consider a stop in Salt Lake City to pick up supplies or a meal, particularly if you’re arriving late.

Our wedding activities are at 8,500 feet above sea level. Most people don't have trouble with the altitude, but there are a few preventative measures to help make sure you have the best weekend possible.

Travel early and ascend slowly
There is a ton to do in Utah. Consider spending a night in Salt Lake City to help you acclimate before heading to Alta.

Stay well hydrated & take it easy on the IPAs
Your body needs more water at altitude and some people feel the effects of alcohol more strongly.
